What is harassment?

Harassment can take different forms. For instance, sexual harassment in the workplace is unwanted conduct of a sexual nature or other conduct based on sex, which affects the dignity of a worker.

It also occurs when an individual is victimised or singled out for exceptional treatment on the basis of their sex, race, age or disability or union/non union membership.

Harassment may also be a criminal offence under Public Order Act and the Protection of Harassment Act.
