head head head

My religion does not permit me to dress in the way my employer would like me to. What can I do?

A good employer should recognise a genuine claim that you are prohibited from dressing in a certain way. An example of good practice in this area is the Metropolitan Police, who permit male Sikh officers to wear turbans, and female Muslim officers to wear specially designed headscarves, instead of the normal choices for police headwear.

A dress code, which unjustifiably discriminated against someone on the grounds of his or her religion, would be unlawful.
