Is there a minimum wage for children who work?

A minimum wage for 16-17 year olds was introduced on 1 Oct 2004, and as of 1 Oct 2008, it is set at £3.53 per hour, but for children under the age of 16, there is no minimum wage protection.

If you are under 16 and taking a part time job, make sure you understand how much your employer will be offering you for the work before accepting.
