head head head

I have been told that my employer has disciplinary rules but I do not have a copy. What should I do?

It is important that employees know the standards of conduct and performance expected of them.

The Employment Rights Act 1996 requires employers to include a reference to details of any disciplinary rules in the written statement of particulars of employment, which should be given to every employee within 8 weeks of starting work.

Your employer can satisfy this requirement by referring in the written statement to an accessible document which provides this information.

It might be a good idea however to ask your employer for a copy of the disciplinary rules and procedures.
