I am an adoptive parent. What are my leave entitlements?

• 26 weeks' ordinary adoption leave provided you have worked for your employer for 26 weeks in the week that you are notified of having been matched with a child for adoption.
• 26 weeks' additional adoption leave to follow consecutively from ordinary adoption leave (all or part of which will be transferable to your partner as of 3 April 2011).
• 13 weeks parental leave until the 5th anniversary of the child’s placement with you, or their 18th birthday, whichever is sooner.
• You are entitled to dependents’ leave, where appropriate.
• Your partner may also qualify for paternity leave and parental leave.
