How much should I get paid during my holidays?

The Working Time Regulations state that you are entitled to paid annual leave, at the rate of a week's pay for each week of leave. However, paid annual leave will only include overtime if you are contractually required to carry out the overtime work.

For employees, the amount of holiday pay and the method of calculation will normally be specified in the contract of employment, although, of course, the Regulations only provide a minimum standard.

The written statement of particulars, which should be given to employees within 8 weeks of starting work, must specify the terms relating to holidays and holiday pay.
