How much should I get paid during my holidays?

The Working Time Regulations state that you are entitled to paid annual leave, and the Regulations state that workers are entitled to be paid a sum equivalent to a week's pay for each week of leave.

This does not include overtime, unless you are contractually required to do the overtime. For employees the amount of holiday pay and the method of calculation will normally be specified in the contract of employment, although, of course, the Regulations provide a minimum standard.

The written statement of particulars, which should be given to employees within eight weeks of starting work, must specify the terms relating to holidays and holiday pay.
