There’s obviously nothing in employment law about the right to watch sport, and flexible working rights are aimed at helping parents rather than fans. However, you do have certain rights around when you take your annual leave.
Your boss has to allow you to take all your leave during the relevant leave year. They can specify particular dates on which you’re not allowed to take leave, but if they want to do this, they have to give twice the time in advance notice as the duration of the period when leave is banned. So for example, placing a two week ban on leave requests would need to be announced four weeks in advance.
