As teleworking only modifies the way in which work is performed, it does not affect the teleworker's employment status.
Whether a worker's refusal to opt for telework is a lawful reason for terminating the employment relationship will depend on a number of factors such as whether it was a reasonable request for the employer to make, and how others have been treated. Speak to your trade union, if you are concerned. Remember that your employer must follow a disciplinary procedure before dismissing employees.
