Pensions Doctor

Welcome to the Pensions Doctor!

This online tool will help you find out how much income you can expect from your pension provision when you retire. You will be able to enter information about all types of pensions, with no limit on the number of pensions both current and any that you have paid in to previously. Once you have done that you will be given a personal pensions prescription, which will set out the total income you can expect on retirement, and give you tailored advice to help you make informed decisions on what further action you might need to take.

To get the most out of this tool you will need to take some time and access information from the Government and your employers or pension providers. We will help you to get this information, with sample letters and links to other sites. Whilst you're gathering all the information, you can simply save what you have entered and you will be able to go back to it easily next time you log on.

We recommend that the information you do enter has been obtained from the pension provider, whether it is state, occupational or private, then the forecast in the Final Report will be much more dependable. However, if for any reason you cannot get the information from private and occupational providers, the Pensions Doctor will carry out a rough calculation for you.

Our assumptions

Where you ask Pensions Doctor to calculate the final payments from a pension fund a number of assumptions have to be made, for example wage inflation between now and when you retire, in every case the standard financial sector assumptions have been used. See further details on these assumptions.
