sexual harassment

Sexual harassment is unwelcome physical, verbal or non-verbal conduct of a sexual nature. These are liable to civil claims in the employment tribunal. Examples of sexual harassment at work include:

  • Comments about the way you look which you find demeaning
  • Indecent remarks
  • Questions about your sex life
  • Sexual demands by a member of your own or the opposite sex
  • Any conduct of a sexual nature which creates an intimidating, hostile or humiliating working environment for you

Incidents involving touching and other physical threats are criminal offences and should be reported to the police.
