Why is men’s health important?

Men’s life expectancy is at around 4 years shorter than women’s. Working class men are likely to live 3.5 less years than men in professional and managerial occupations. Men suffer the great majority of fatal or major non-fatal injuries at work.

Men don’t like going to doctors when they are ill. They don’t examine themselves for lumps and bumps, and they are less likely to report the symptoms of disease or illness. Their condition is likely to have worsened by the time they decide to seek diagnosis.
