Who is most at risk from workplace violence?

Overall men are slightly more at risk than women, but both men and women in the 25-34 age group are most at risk.

According to the Health and Safety Executive's RIDDOR statistics the occupations most at risk are:

  • Prison service officers.
  • Police workers.
  • Bus and coach drivers.
  • Nursing workers.
  • Care workers.
  • Rail transport workers.
  • Teachers.
  • Security workers.

Care workers are involved in the highest number of incidents.
