Which court do I go to?
If you have been injured, you can bring a private claim for compensation against your employer:
-
Your claim will usually be decided in the County Court if it is worth up to £50,000, or in the High Court if it is substantially above £50,000.
-
However, Employment Tribunals may also have jurisdiction to give compensation for personal injury in some cases, for example claims for discrimination or harassment under the Equality Act 2010.
