These are the main projects:

Sheffield Occupational Health Advisory Service Sheffield OH Advisory Service was the first of its kind in the UK. It provides information and advice for employed and unemployed people with work-related health problems. Advisers offer confidential advice sessions in GP practices across the city. Greater Manchester Hazards Centre The centre provides:

  • casework advice
  • training
  • support to local workplace and community organisations
  • telephone and drop-in advice, including advice and representation (eg at Employment Tribunals and for social security appeals), referral to specialist agencies and liaison with local union reps, as appropriate
  • support groups, including: Greater Manchester Asbestos Victims Support Group; the Manchester Area Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI) Support and Action Group; and the North West Safety Reps Network, providing support to safety reps in the region.
  • health and safety training and other services, including TUC and trade union courses
  • newsletter, Hazardous Times, and health and safety fact sheets

Leeds Occupational Health Advisory Service Key services include working directly with GP practices providing advice and support to patients. Occupational health advisors work in surgeries where they take patient referrals from GPs and other health professionals. London Hazards Centre The centre provides advice, information, training and other forms of practical support to Londoners concerned to protect their health and safety at work: The telephone advice line (or drop-in) for casework includes first-stage legal and medical advice, and assistance in contacting other specialist agencies, your GP or a trade union.
