What are safety Regulations?

Safety Regulations are the strongest form of official advice that employers have to follow:

• Regulations are made by Government ministers, often following proposals from the Health and Safety Commission, and approved by Parliament.
• They cover the general management of health and safety at work, work processes (eg manual handling, use of display screen equipment) and specific standards (eg exposure to chemicals).
