Doctors cannot contact your employer without your consent. Nor are they obliged to give advice to employers in relation to occupational health issues.
Any report provided by a GP to your employer needs to comply with the requirements of the Access to Medical Records Act 1988, which gives you, the patient, rights of consent/refusal, access to the report, and the right to comment on it.
