We are told we can only have two days off sick a month. Is this right?

There is no legal limit to the number of days you can take sick in any one year.  While employers may decide to investigate, and perhaps even invoke a capability procedure, against staff taking what they see as excessive sick days, serious penalties imposed on the back of such an arbitrary rule should be easy to challenge in an employment tribunal.
