In July 2007 legal restrictions on smoking in workplaces and enclosed public places came into force in England. This followed similar legislation in Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
Action on Smoking and Health (ASH) is a public health charity working on smoking issues. They have research and resources links on their website.

Go SmokeFree has been set up by the NHS to provide advice on kicking the smoking habit.
