head head head

I am worried about being assaulted at work. How can I make sure I am safe?

Four out of 10 nurses say they have been attacked at work during the past three years. In 1998, the Government said that by 2001 it would reduce attacks on NHS staff by 20%. It failed. In 1999, the Government introduced the Zero Tolerance campaign against violence in the health service, but the Royal College of Nursing says that: health service managers should call the police every time a member of staff is attacked, the police need to take the issue seriously, and NHS trusts should press charges every time a member of staff is attacked.

If you are attacked at work and the attack is not reported to the police, it will be harder to claim Criminal Injuries compensation (see personal injury claims for more information)
