How will a solicitor help me?

Most solicitors offer an initial meeting or telephone consultation without obligation, at the end of which they should send you a detailed letter. The solicitor's letter should state:

• How likely they think you are to succeed.
• What the likely outcome in compensation will be.
• What the total legal costs are likely to be.
• On what terms they propose to fund the case. This will include who will have responsibility for the conduct of the case, what you will be charged for their work, and details of any 'no win, no fee'.
