You must start legal action within three years of the date of the accident, or in disease cases, within three years of the date when you first realised that you were suffering ill health caused, or made worse, by your job.
It may take a long time before a doctor gives you a definite diagnosis, so don't delay in starting a claim. You should seek legal advice as soon as possible so that evidence can be preserved, witnesses contacted, photographs taken, etc.
