- Provide a noise-cancelling microphone. This ensures that only the worker's voice can be heard, so reducing background noise levels. Position your microphone correctly: if your microphone is not set correctly, you have to raise your voice to be heard by a caller, which puts strain on your voice, and raises the general noise level in the call centre.
