Who should I use as referees on my CV?

Referees are sometimes required on CVs, but even if they’re not they will be needed at some stage. Referees who work in the same industry as the organisation you’re applying to are the best, and the better-known they are, the more useful.

Otherwise, choose anyone you know who has a responsible job, particularly if they re in charge of staff, and who you’re sure will vouch for you. Always ask their permission first.
