You may have heard that certain employers are not recruiting at the moment, but they will be interested in capable people, and may also have temporary or short-term vacancies which might be attractive and turn into something more long term. In the meantime get back to work and don't sulk – you will only get treated worse. Much more satisfying to resign in due course while announcing your new appointment at a more exciting company on a better rate of pay.
