When people are overworking, health and fitness is often the first casualty. However little time or energy you have, if you don’t eat, sleep, bathe and wash your clothes, you’ll quickly turn into a mess and not be working for long. But reducing your level of exercise and taking your eye off what you eat doesn’t have an immediately noticeable impact. So, when time becomes precious or you’re just dead tired, keeping up your health and fitness can become a very low priority.
That can be a costly mistake. Letting your health slide can cause you serious problems in the not-very-distant future. But it’s not only the risks of ill-health that make looking after yourself so important. Keeping fit and healthy provides all kinds of positive benefits, both physical and mental, that can create a platform from which to restore your work-life balance.
