Do many employers use the internet to find staff?

Few employers rely exclusively on the internet for recruitment, but most now use it to some extent as one of several tools to find the staff they’re looking for. One recent survey found that 75 per cent of employers in the UK use some kind of online recruitment methods, with 60 per cent using the internet to advertise vacancies and 46 per cent offering an online application form.

As well as employers offering jobs on their own sites, the explosion in the use of the internet has fostered the rise of online job-search sites offering themselves as a medium between employers and job-seekers.

It makes sense for both sides. Job-seekers can avoid a lot of the legwork involved in the job hunt and employers can save themselves the cost of advertising in the press.
